 Voluntarius - Voluntary Strategies

In Swedish the name of teh company is Voluntarius - Ideella Strategier.

The word voluntarius is Latin for "from ones free will". From this word you have volunteer in English, volontaire and volontariat in French and voluntario in Spanish and Portuguese, all with the same meaning = someone who is working for a cause from free will and without pay.

We help Voluntary Organizations succeed

They are called voluntary or grassroots organizations, societies, nonprofits, charities, NGOs and so on. As the main actors, and seeds and fruits of civil society, they are key to development of their country, and a major way for people to solve and handle problems. They are all based on a voluntary or non-profit logic, and therefore neither company nor government, but they are not the same. There are many different types of organizations, all with their own sub-logic. There are also major differences between countries and cultures. To become and stay successful an organization has to be governed, managed and organized according to its own specific logic and in line with the conditions created by its environment. This is indeed a challenge for its leaders, and for anyone aiming to support them, especially if this is done from afar.

Voluntarius – Voluntary Strategies is well aware of all this. We therefore don’t promote a ready-made model based on what is successful in our own country, but aim to help organizations find tailor-made solutions proper to their own situation. Our broad international experience and in-depth studies makes this possible. Our approach is especially helpful for organizations in countries just starting to develop their own modern voluntary tradition.

Voluntarius – Voluntary Strategies is a consultancy helping voluntary organizations to develop successful strategies, services and organizational structures in line with their specific logic, needs and situation. This includes strengthening leadership through proper governance and management, and resources through volunteering and other resource mobilization.
